Sun reactions may occur in people with sensitive skin, certain skin diseases, or due to medications that increase sensitivity to sunlight. Common symptoms include redness, itching, burning sensation, rashes, and in some cases blisters or dark pigmentation after sun exposure.
Common causes include excessive sun exposure, use of photosensitizing drugs (like some antibiotics or acne medicines), and conditions such as polymorphous light eruption or lupus.
Treatment includes avoiding direct sun exposure, using broad-spectrum sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, and applying soothing creams. In more severe cases, antihistamines or prescribed medications may be needed.
